RSD Black Friday 2022
We’re All Going to the World’s Fair marks the first-ever film score from singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alex G. A haunting sonic companion to Jane Schoenbrun’s 2022 thriller about a shy teenage girl who becomes immersed in an online horror game, the soundtrack features a collection of original songs and score music written for the film by the Philadelphia-based musician. Vacillating between Alex G’s signature style of lo-fi bedroom pop and more ambient, sprawling instrumentals, the expansive soundscape is deeply intimate and affecting, capturing the search for connection at the heart of the unnerving coming-of-age story. This RSD Black Friday release comes pressed on seafoam green vinyl.

Jazz and blues pianist/vocalist/composer Mose Allison has been described as "one of the finest songwriters of 20th century blues." This 1978 live recording features Allison playing his usual repertoire, in a trio with bassist Tom Rutley (bass) and drummer Jerry Granelli (drums). Since Allison only recorded one album during the years 1973 to 1981, this well-recorded live set is quite valuable.
Most of the material is fairly familiar, but the singer's spirited delivery and interplay with the audience make this recording rare. It ain't about technology, it's about these transcendent versions of Allison classics performed with sidemen who get it, for people who dig it -- the real deal. Highlights include "Wildman on the Loose," "Swinging Machine," "I Live the Life I Love," "I Ain't Got Nothin' But the Blues" and "Your Mind Is on Vacation." Recorded Live March 26, 1978 at the Showboat Lounge, Silver Springs, MD.

"History and legend have often found their way into my songs," reflects Grant-Lee Phillips. "But sometimes, I don't have to look quite so far to find inspiration." The ten songs on Grant-Lee Phillips' Walking in the Green Corn are drawn from Phillips intensive investigations into his native lineage. Phillips, who is Muskogee (Creek), elliptically explores the intersection of past and present, personal and political. While the songs delve deeply into the subconscious mystery of his own backstory, they simultaneously reveal the resonance and insight of ancient myth in parallel to contemporary man's emotions, actions, and errors. With the exception of violin and vocals by Sara Watkins (formerly of Nickel Creek) and an understated vibraphone part by Alexander Burke, everything on Walking in the Green Corn was performed, sung, and engineered by Phillips. For the album's 10th anniversary, Walking in the Green Corn is getting its first-ever vinyl reissue on turquoise color vinyl. This edition also includes a bonus 45 single (also on turquoise color vinyl) of two totally unreleased tracks: "Billy Bowlegs" and "Red River." This is the first time the album has ever been available on color vinyl. The 10th anniversary edition of Walking in the Green Corn is available exclusively at independent record stores for Record Store Day Black Friday 2022.
